MATIGSALUG-MANOBO PANGATAB: A SKIN ART OF BEAUTY, REVERENCE, AND UNITY

This study investigates the pang-o-tub (body arts) of the Manobo-Matigsalug Indigenous Cultural
Community in Sinuda, Kitaotao, Bukidnon in terms of loob (interior), labas (exterior), lalim (depth), and lawak (space/extent) from Covar’s notion. A descriptive qualitative research design, specifically indigenous research was employed to conduct a community-based data collection. Referral, in-depth interviews, FGD, and video recordings with tribe elders, youths, and children. 

Ang pagsapit ng kamuwangan sa pelikula: Isang panimulang pagsipat sa naratibo ng piling coming‑of‑age films ng Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival

This preliminary study aims to make a modest contribution to the literature on coming-of-age cinema in the Philippines. Using coming-of-age cinema concepts from Alistair Fox (2017) woven into the Three Dimensions of Film Narrative of David Bordwell (2007), this paper is a preliminary narrative analysis of selected contemporary coming-of-age films from the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival. This study aims to offer insights about the characteristics of a Filipino coming-of-age film.

Varayti ng Wika sa Pinoy Indie: Isang Mungkahing Balangkas sa Pedagohiyang Kritikal Tungo sa Pagsasabansa ng Akademya at Sining

Layunin ng papel na ito na talakayin ang katangian ng Pinoy indie alinsunod sa historikal na pagbalikwas nito at potensyal na gamit bilang awtentiko at makabuluhang materyales sa pagtuturo ng mga varayti ng wika at panlipunang diskurso. Gayundin, nilalayon ng papel na makapagmungkahi ng pedagohiyang balangkas na may tumbukang lapit sa paglinang ng kritikal na pag-iisip ukol sa pag-uugnay ng pagkakaiba-iba ng wika at diskurso nito sa kalagayan ng lipunang Pilipino.
